About
Bite Me is an audiovisual story world about meeting and missing, about the beauty of imperfect things, and the curiosity that keeps us walking.
I'm interested in what happens between people. The half-said things. The text at 2am. The silences that taste of something specific.
Most of it makes no sense. That's my favourite part.
I'm a glutton, in the most literal sense. I'm hungry for food, for stories, for someone telling me something true. (The someone is usually me, late, having long conversations with myself.)
I'm hungry for life. For asking why and getting three different answers from three different people, because we're not the same.
Some stories end in a recipe. Some end in a song. Some end in a candle burning down on its own.
Everything tastes better when shared, even with yourself.
Fernanda Strelow grew up inside Brazilian film sets, the daughter of a cinematographer and a casting producer, the niece of a director. Visual language was the family dinner before she could read.
She tried to escape it. She ran to the kitchen. She trained as a chef at SENAC São Paulo, moved to Barcelona at twenty, and built her own things along the way: Asiatik, an asian kitchen brand, and Clandesti, a secret restaurant that took over her own flat once a month for years. (The neighbours mostly forgave her.)
She wrote and self-published a sushi book in 2024, the kind of book where the photos took as long as the recipes. She photographed an underground post-punk band for three years, on stage and off, and the dim, beautiful Japanese restaurants where she felt at home.
Bite Me started in a kitchen full of fish, knives, and questions. After all that running, the camera caught her again. (The fish, surprisingly, hasn't complained.)
She introduces herself, the rules of this world, and what she's here to tell you.
AI is part of the process. It helps me move faster. The decisions, the recipes, the words, the look, all of that stays human.
Authorship is human. Tools are tools.
